Try disabling   Tools    Handy Hot Keys option. Look here for details.

4. I Can Not Pause or Control Some Movies
Some movies contain "internal" animations which can not be controlled. This is how some Flash Movies are designed. For the same reason some small animations may keep playing even if a movie as a whole is paused.
